What the site puts on your device

A useful cookie policy is not a list of definitions: it is the exact list of what the site stores on or reads from a visitor's device, with the name, purpose, duration and whoever sets it. That list is below, and it is short.

• “jambojohn_journey”, set by this site: it remembers where you are in your trip, so the buttons match. It lasts 7 days.
• No third-party cookies: the site loads no resources from other domains, not even typefaces or maps.
• No profiling cookies, no advertising pixels, nothing shared with advertising networks.

Current state

The site uses a single technical cookie, which remembers where you are in your trip — planning, already in Kenya, already booked — so the buttons match the pages you open. It lasts a week and stays in the browser: it is not sent to anyone. No visitor analytics tool is switched on. If one is switched on in future, a consent request will appear first, naming the provider and the country where the data is processed, and you will be able to refuse without losing the use of the site. Since there are no profiling or analytics cookies, no consent banner appears: there is nothing to accept. The technical cookie is removed by clearing the site data from your browser settings.

The choice is deliberate: not to switch on tools that require consent. It is simpler not to collect than to explain badly why something was collected.

Relationship with the privacy policy

The data you send with the contact form — name, chosen contact detail, travel period, number of people, interests and message — are not cookies and do not concern this page: they are described in the privacy policy.
